Exclusions

Good To Know

What are Free Time Add-Ons?

Free Time Add-Ons will take your trip to a whole new level with unforgettable experiences unique to the places you visit. See more, do more, live more & go home completely regret-free. Costs for those aren’t included in your trip cost & are payable to your trip manager in local currency.

About Luggage & What To Bring

Baggage restrictions of one medium sized bag with a maximum weight of 50lbs plus one piece of hand luggage per person. It is advised to not bring bags with wheels as some locations don’t have smooth pathways. The piece of hand luggage should be big enough to be used as an overnight bag for the trips camping in the Chobe National Park and Okavango Delta.

A pair of binoculars is crucial for any safari and your most important tool for wildlife viewing. It is highly recommended to bring a pair with you. Summers are very hot with scattered thunder showers while winters get cold, especially on safari, so please pack accordingly.

Budget for Exclusions, Tipping & Extras

How much spending money you’ll need will depend on the duration of the trip and how much you anticipate spending on personal expenses like alcohol or shopping. Before you travel, it’s also a good idea to read up on and get an idea of the Free Time Add-Ons you think you’ll want to do on trip, as these will form part of your overall budget. Soul Free Travels provides you with estimated costs for these sort of extras that come up and we will provide the information to you.

-Cost of a local lunch
-Cost of a local dinner
-Cost of a local taxi
-Cost of entry to a sightseeing spot

It is strongly advised to have USD in cash before the start of the trip.  Most places let you pay with card, but it is strongly advised to have US$200 – US$300 as sometimes electricity, signal or card machines might not be working in remote places. In all areas of the service industry in Africa, whether it’s restaurants, bars, hotels or taxis, it’s common practice to tip if you feel that the service received has been excellent.

The same goes for your Contiki team; if you feel that their service has been exceptional then feel free to tip them. Our travellers often ask what to tip, we suggest $3.00 USD per person, per day. Remember that tipping (how much you tip) is optional – it’s entirely up to you.

Birds of A Feather & Social Butterflies

Contiki specializes in group trips for travelers aged 18 to 35 and brings together travelers from all corners of the globe to discover new cultures and a little part of themselves along the way.

Another great thing about Contiki is that your fellow travelers tend to become lifelong friends and are as much of your travel experience as the incredible destinations you’ll visit. Whether you travel alone, with friends or create your own group, you’ll never be left on your own, unless you do it intentionally.

Offering incredible value, across 350+ global trips, Contiki sorts out the stressful logistical stuff like transport and accommodations, leaving you with unique travel experiences you wouldn’t be able to book on your own.

Throughout your trip, Contiki’s expert Trip Managers and Local Guides use their local insights to help you discover an authentic side to the places you visit. Your trip managers are also there to watch your back and assist you with anything you may need.

You don't leave your health care up to your banker or call a florist to build you a house, do you? So, why deal with non-travel pros when booking your treasured vacation? We are walking the talk—from vetting properties to providers, and getting the lay of the land, we like to speak from experience. We love a good travel challenge and will turn every stone. Nothing cookie cutter here!

Blowing Sunshine

We don't blow the sunshine where the sun doesn't shine. Travel companies all say the same sort of things. Many even say "for the discerning traveler." Says so right on their websites! That's really just a polite way of saying you can't have any taste if you don't have a big budget, so move on. Well, our mantra is everyone should know the joys of travel. No matter your budget, we do our very best for every client, every time. We promise you honesty, fairness and the white glove treatment because that's just how we roll. Day 10

Etosha

We’re up early for our first Namibian game drive in Etosha National Park! The Etosha Pan is so large it can be seen from space, but it’s the natural waterholes lining the edge that attract the wildlife (and therefore us) to them.

From the big cats to desert-adapted antelope, the wildlife viewing experience here is like no where else on Earth. During the heat of day, relax at the pool or sit at the waterhole watching wildlife come and go before opting to go on another afternoon Etosha Game drive. Tonight we treat ourselves to another buffet dinner on our last night together.
