
Cotahuasi Canyon is in La UniĂłn Province in the Arequipa region. At more than 11,000 feet, it's the world's deepest canyon and all the proof you'll need to know that water and ice really are the earth's master sculptors.
For outdoorsy, active travelers, it's a must go and the adventure starts the moment you leave to make your way there. If you are faint hearted, this might not be for you. There is only one road in and out of the area and some of it unpaved and at high altitudes. With 12 different ecosystems in the Cotahuasi reserve, the scenery is stunningly diverse and the wildlife is just as spectacular.

Perched above the Sacred Valley, this 15th century citadel built by the Inca is Peru's most visited place in addition to being one of the most popular places in the world. Getting on the 5:30 am bus is advised to avoid huge crowds and get your best photos—or better yet, trek there and enjoy a well deserved sunrise here. Do be aware that you need to get in line at about 3:30 am to have a better chance at getting on that bus! Additionally, you need to buy tickets in advance and familiarize yourself with the regulations that have been set in place. We strongly suggest going with a reputable tour operator to have the process made simpler for you.



Your gateway into Peru is typically Lima and do your best to not cut your time too short here! You'll find amazing food, incredible architecture, museums, ruins, beaches and more! Traveler's favorites are the Plaza de Armas and the Convento de San Francisco. Another favorite thing to do to is to check out the Magic Water Circuit at the Parque de la Reserva which puts on a great light & waterfall show that is similar to the Bellagio in Las Vegas. El Parque del Amor in Miraflores is a great place for colorful photos and scenic views.
